Cero e Luce

(pronounced Cherr-o eh LU-chay)
Arts and Sciences Award

Translates (Italian) to Candle's Light.

Ceremony:
And there shall be a light in the darkness, and by this light shall you see the beauty of these current Middle Ages. There are those who bear this light, gentle as a candle's glow, that fill the Barony with warmth. They demonstrate Medieval artistry, culture and learning, and ignite others with their passion.
As the candle is the Society's symbol of the Arts and Sciences, so shall the Cero e Luce, the Candle's Light, be a symbol of the artist within the Barony.

Order of the Gryphon's Hammer

Armored Combat Award

Ceremony:
In the days when the earth was young and the heavens wept at the plight of man, was the sacred hammer Mjollnir created and placed in the hands of mighty Thor. With this weapon, Thor was commanded to defend Asgaard. In this tradition do we ___________, Baron and Baroness of Gryphon's Lair, recognize the Order of the Gryphon's Hammer, and charge those warrior souls whose blood flows hot with fiercesome prowess to defend and protect Gryphon's Lair from her enemies near and far. At this time, we ask all members of the Order of the Gryphon's Hammer to come forward.

Come forward all and know that Thorvald and Bianca, Founding Baron and Baroness of Gryphon's Lair, did create the Company of the Lux Gryphus and to stand as the Premier, they called forward ______________.  They asked that this Company continue to guide the Barony with Grand Light.
So, in recognition of our subject's unwavering pursuit of the Ideals of Grace, Courtesy, Honor and Duty and by their Embracing of the Virtues of the Dream, We ___________ and ____________, Baron and Baroness of Gryphon’s Lair, do add _______________ to the Company of the Lux Gryphus. May you continue to inspire those around you and defend the Dream.

Constitution of the Lux Gryphus:
1. There shall exist in the Barony of Gryphon's Lair an award known as the Lux Gryphus, which may be given by the Baronage to those persons whose behavior is thought to show the highest ideals and values of the Current Middle Ages.
2. The holders of this award shall be styled as Companions of the Lux Gryphus, and shall be entitled to place the initials CLG after their names.
3. The Badge of the Order (upon approval) shall be: papelony azure and argent, a sunburst or.
4. Arms & precedence
a) This Order shall (with approval of the Crown) carry with it an Award of Arms if the recipient does not already hold one. Companions of this order shall take precedence after the Kingdom Orders of Merit and before the simple Awards of Arms.
b) If the Award is given to a person who bears a higher precedence than given above, their precedence remains unchanged.
5. No more than 2 Lux Gryphus shall be made each year.
6. Amendments to this constitution shall be made by the Baronage of Gryphon's Lair or by the Crown of Artemisia.

Built to warn sailors of the treacherous sandbars off Alexandria , the world’s first lighthouse, Pharos was both grand and essential, displaying its light to far reaches. Without its crucial radiance, Alexandria would not have been one of the busiest ports of the ancient world. In fair Gryphon’s Lair, there are individuals whose light of service support the activities of all others; those who are beacons for all to follow, illuminating the dark of night with confidence and strength, granting peace of mind to those seeking to find their path. Thus was the Order of the Flame of Pharos created, to recognize such service.
