Greetings unto the populace of Gryphon’s Lair!
The Chatelaine’s office is teaming up with the Youth Minister to hold a sewing day. We will be making tabards for our youth to wear at the demos we put on and any other special occasion when requested. We are trying to put more flair and pageantry into our demos and any other occasion we can to improve our visibility.
This project is geared toward our older youth and everyone with children 10 years of age and older are strongly encouraged to attend. Making the tabards fulfills Page 9 of the Primer requirement 1 - Attend a Page School class at an event or local meeting and make a craft. Wearing the tabard at a demo covers the Service requirement 2 on page 6 of the Primer – Help with an SCA activity outside of a regular event or meeting. As the tabards will belong to the barony, all supplies will be provided.
If possible, please bring a sewing machine to speed up how many tabards can be sewn at once. Adult supervision and assistance is required but is also an important and necessary component to make this project a success! Due to the nature of this activity, please no extra children since we will be busy and no one will be tending the extras. We will be dealing with fabric paint so wear something that can get ruined since it will be children handling the paint
