Zalkuubar was born 1270, when Kublai Khan ruled the Mongolian Empire. She lived in Shangdu(Xanadu) as an infant and Karakorum during her youth. In 1279, the Court of Kublai, including consorts and aristocratic families moved to Dadu in China. It was on the Journey that she received her name when her mother spied a Zouyu during their travels. She now servers as a teacher for the new generation of Mongol Children living in the capital city.
